Bottled water consumed at home

I once looked over my water bill for our house and then did a bunch of math. I figured out that it costs 1 penny for 7 gallons of water out of the tap. That is a whole lot of glasses of water that can be drank from the tap vs. one bottled water. I never have done the math though about how much a glass of water costs from our faucet filter.

OP you are really weird about water, just saying

Who buys bottled water to keep at home for errands? Do you leave the water running while you brush your teeth too?

OP here. I look in the stores for refillable water bottles. I have bought many, but I have yet to find the "perfect" one. I want one that has a wide mouth so I can clean the inside of it. Not too tall or it tips over when I go around curves in the car. Not too wide or it won't fit well in the cup holder of my vehicle. I have found that Dasani water bottles in a can cozy fit just right in my car cup holders.

FWIW, I refill my empty Dasani water bottles from my faucet about 20 times before I toss them.

OP here. My husband is his AA sponsor.

Ask your husband what he advises to do with these petty resentments.

Maybe try alanon.

OP here. I realized today that we didn't have any bottled water in the fridge. I thought about not restocking any so he would be "forced" to drink faucet water. But then it felt underhanded and catty and rude to purposefully not have any on hand. So I went to the laundry room to find our water bottle stash. I grumbled and sighed while restocking the fridge. Then I wondered if I was being shallow and petty for even caring. Thus the reason I started this post.

You're just being weird! What on Earth are you afraid of? Will this friend turn into the Hulk and smash up your house if he doesn't have bottled water? No. He will probably react like a normal human. He'll open the fridge, find it empty, then say "Hey Judy, mind if I get some water?" "oh yeah, Hank, if you don't mind, we're cutting back on bottled water, but the tap is filtered. Glasses are in the top right cabinet." Done. He won't be offended. I mean, would you? If you went to your friend's house and she told you they're only drinking tap these days, would you be mad?

Anyone with more than exactly zero children has zero right to bash anyone else's impact on the environment. Bunch of faux-crunchy ninnies who love musty reusable bottles.

May your descendants enjoy my disposable bottles forever.

OP, you're in need of alanon and therapy. Nobody obsesses to this degree about a bottle of water, and then goes through the turmoil you went through when the fridge was empty and you decided to search out more bottled water in order to enable the guy and assuage your intense guilt. You can't handle this simple issue in a healthy, normal way, which says a lot about your frame of mind.

Your thread is a cry for help.

Who even buys bottled water? It's a sign of low education, or possibly advanced age.

I have no idea how you navigate daily life, OP. FFS.

If you have bottle water in the house then it is odd to not let him take a bottle.

This is all so bizarre of a thing to care about.

Wow harsh crowd today! OP, don't let them make you feel bad.

I buy bottled water for when I am in a hurry or DD's needs an extra water for sports.

Try HydroFlask's stainless steel water bottles. Amazon has them. I love them as they will keep iced water cold for 8 hours or even more. Perfect for leaving in the car when necessary.

Sure, I have a suggestion. Ask him to use the filtered water because you are saving the bottled water for car commuting.
How's that? Rocket science?
