I don't buy into a unified theory either but in this case, it doesn't take a grand Illuminati conspiracy. Robert Mercer, with Cambridge Analytica is unto himself a massive and scary force and presence. Add to that, the Russian FSB/mob stuff which may be independent of Mercer and Cambridge Analytica and which may also have worked independently in pockets across Trump's business affairs, Manafort, Flynn, et cetera - but which still aligned in terms of outcome. No grand global conspiracy needed.

It depends by what you mean by "all of these things". Some of the things that have been discussed in this thread I don't think happened. As I noted, I don't see a reason to hack voter rolls when they are easily obtained legally. I don't know if Facebook profiles were hacked -- that seems like it would be a pretty significant event that Facebook would be legally required to disclose. But, if they were, I doubt the data was transferred by a server owned by the Trump Organization. Is it likely that Mercer undertook actions to influence the election? Undoubtedly. Did the Russians engage in actions to influence the elections? It seems likely. Were there connections between Trump, his associates and the Russians? Clearly. Were all of these things happening due to strings Putin was pulling? I don't think so.

In some states public records laws apply only to residents of the state. For example, in Virginia only Virginians can submit public records requests. But there's nothing to keep a resident from turning over the information to a foreign entity once it's acquired.
