Robert Mercer, with Cambridge Analytica is unto himself a massive and scary force and presence. Add to that, the Russian FSB/mob stuff which may be independent of Mercer and Cambridge Analytica and which may also have worked independently in pockets across Trump's business affairs, Manafort, Flynn, et cetera - but which still aligned in terms of outcome.
