Please. Commenting on someone's bizarre habits is not "having it out for them." How did the right get so super sensitive?!

The right?
It is the left that finds insult in what someone chooses to eat or how he chooses to at it. Don't people have better things to do with their time than critiquing how and what people choose to eat?

Makes me think of a Scottish guy I knew who ordered his steaks "mooing."

It was bad enough he made them over-cook the poor steak; but he had to add insult to injury by putting ketchup on it, as if it would be served with a sippy cup.

For real?

His taste in food is as infantile as his vocabulary and his behavior.

We live in a country where Kim Kardashian is famous, what do you think?! No, people do not have better things to do. But you need to grow a thicker skin if you are going to make it through the next four years because your President is wildly unpopular, no matter what lies he is feeding you.

This is breaking "news" for WaPo these days. How sad.

The article isn't so bad.

Trump is an eat to live person. Just not interested in food. There are many people like that. It's not a moral flaw.

There are many people like that, with a lot of money but they never learned how to enjoy life with it. Some people love stale Hershey bars and turn their noses up at fine imported chocolate. They will never know what they're missing. They're incapable of it. Their palates only appreciate Kraft and Unilever products.

I bet you're poor. It's always hipsters and people without a pot to piss in trying to lecture others how to live a more decadent life.

Who said anything about decadent. No point in wearing a Chanel dress if you don't shower.

Anonymous wrote:The funniest thing for me about this revelation is that my FIL and SIL both put ketchup on their well done steaks, and they are both Trump supporters. My FIL is the Rush Limbaugh radio totin' Hannity quotin' type. So the ketchup really brings it around to close the loop.

My parents raised me right - medium rare please!

Same here but in a restaurant I order medium since they always tend to under cook it.

Really? I find my medium rare steak ends up more medium about half the time. DH has a horrible time getting actually rare steak.

Today's senior citizens have been exposed to decades of marketing. It's no surprise they prefer the familiar flavors they've known since childhood. Kraft Mac and Cheese has a very specific flavor and (unnatural) color. Someone who thinks that's the only mac and cheese in the world would probably feel sick eating mac and cheese from a good restaurant, i.e. made with gruyere or real cheddar. Gen X and younger has been exposed to more than flavors created by corporations. It's not being a snob; many of our great-grandparents with very little money knew how to make meals that would put good restaurants to shame. Trump has no class, but he's also a typical old person. Ever try to drag an elderly relative who hasn't traveled much and thinks everything will hurt them to a Thai restaurant? Good luck.

Anonymous wrote:I hate all the trump stands for, but this post is ridiculous. OP, you embarrass me.

Who cares if he puts ketchup on his steak! It's a tomato product that goes with savory foods. I grew up where people did this in the midwest and if I ate a stake today, I might put ketchup on it (although I can't remember the last time I ate a steak). A steak is quite similar to a hamburger (i.e. both beef). Would you be up in arms if he put ketchup on his burger?

See, OP, it's this kind of micro-complaining that makes people hate east coasters and label them "elites" who don't understand real life. You played right into the charicature.

Let him eat ketchup if he wants... just don't destroy our country, start wars or block good people from entering our country.

FOCUS on what's important, OP.

You can't even spell steak, so you're the only embarrassment here. (NP, not OP) You also can't spell caricature, but yes, by all means, continue lecturing OP. #Unhinged

This could work as an explanation except that trump was born on a well off family and has been rich for decades. He had many opportunities to taste different foods. It's not like all he knows is kraft's mac & cheese.

personally i hate steaks. i love meat but americans eat old animals and their meat is terrible.
