US Army interpreter in Baghdad and Mosul prevented from entering US because of Trump's refugee ban

This is going to f*ck the airline industry. People will not risk traveling. Google already warned its employees not to because this could be extended with no notice.

I am deeply ashamed of this country today.

This is going to f* the economy. If greencard holders can't re-enter the country, many of the most profitable US industries are SOL.

It's only a matter of time before India and Korea start enticing US businesses abroad. I know many Indian H1B and greencard holders who are worried.

These EOs were not vetted by anyone with govt experience. Normally I accept that Trump is just incompetent and would argue they screwed this up because they don't know what they're doing, but this isn't Trump. This is Bannon. This is exactly the sort of bomb he likes to throw to generate outrage and confusion and demonstrate power.

The White House is LYING when it says it coordinated this with state and DHS. Do not believe anything these people say.

-1. No self respecting attorney wrote this crap, let alone a team of attorneys. This is Steve Bannon. On some guy hustling in a hospital waiting room for personal injury clients. Not attorney with the credentials to work in the White House-- even this White House- vetted this.

I don't know. This White House doesn't care that much about credentials.

This wasn't vetted by the Office of Legal Counsel. Probably used LegalZoom or Morgan Lewis.

Oh no! The EO States exemptions can be made, and this is exactly a case where an exemption needs to be made ASAP.
Anyone who has saved American soldiers lives at their own peril deserve our help and gratitude.

There are quite a few Iraqis that fall into this category...

In the long run, but in the short run, ticket sales may soar at full fare. Google just ordered all its employees back into the United States.

Compassion 101 is not considering those that died in your own country at the hands of barbarian terrorists, collateral damage. Because 'globalism'

Compassion 101 is not putting the needs and desires of illegals over the needs of those Americans in the inner cities

Intelligent people know that none of these things are mutually exclusive. You can protect your country and care about American well being and still be compassionate and inclusive of people fleeing savagery in other parts of the world.

And in terms of what kills Americans - it's other Americans. And most mass shootings are at the hands of white Christian men. So if you're really worried about American lives, think about this: you're more likely to die in a mass shooting at the hands of a white guy than an Islamist extremist. But don't let facts spur your compassion.

As long as the executives move to China with their families, I have not problem with this outcome.

Obviously, PP, the executives who value their American lifestyles see no inconsistency in hiring employees who live under oppressive governments, etc. if it means that their bonuses are bigger and stock options are worth more.

Globalism v. Nationalism

Green card holders are not "illegals" you moron. All this outrage is over the effect this is having on LEGAL immigrants. Students, scientists, people who have lived here for years, people who have risked their lives to help our troops. .

I don't see a lot of Sauds and Egyptians coming here as refugees.

Hey, name caller, I'm well-aware of that. A green card holder is not a citizen either. The ban is temporary and these people will be back in short-order.

"Intelligent people" didn't give a rats a$$ about the Christian refugees. I didn't see many protests from those people re: Obama's unfairness towards them.

This white guy bullsh$t has to stop. You have to go back how many years to amass those statistics? Islamists are wreaking havoc across the globe RIGHT NOW. We are under no obligation to invite them here.

Temporary idiocy? I don't know why you think it's temporary.

Since and including 9/11 there have been absolutely zero attacks perpetrated by people whose countries of origin are on the list in the EO. Naturally, not one of the countries from whom people have originated and HAVE perpetrated attacks here, is listed in the EO.

But you see plenty coming in from the other countries on the list? Take your time to pull your head out of your a$$ before replying.
