Which Republican electorate? The traditional republican base would throw Congress a ticker tape parade. Trump's base, on the other hand, would lose their sh*t. But Trump's base and the Republican base are not the same. So the question is, which do Rs fear more in the midterm election? The Rust Belt may want Trump, for now. But the stroke belt God and Guns crew, plus Florida and probably Texas really want Pence. The House is really backed in a corner right now, so it will be interesting to want. |

NPD makes sense.
I remember watching the Trump family on 60 Minutes after the election and you could see Ivanka giving him intense looks during his answers, almost willing him to stay on message. I think she's the only one who knows how to deal with him and that's the primary reason her husband has a spot in the WH. Of course, an additional concern is the agenda of people who think they can control him. Because, only a week into his administration, its become obvious to the world that they cannot. I don't think he'll be impeached. They're going to figure out a way to make him think stepping down is a good idea. |
| Trump can be crazy, smart, dangerous and effective all at the same time. |
Effective at what, though, is the question. |
Haha, can you imagine the right wing conspiracy theories if he drops dead? |
Which one? There are millions of us. |
I love THIS

Hey you! This is the original NPD poster from a few days ago. I've actually been traveling all day and just catching up on this thread now. So happy to see so many other sane people agreeing with me. Looks like you might be the bitter odd man out in this case - you're highly out voted on this topic. I'll be sure to enjoy the sunny California weather for you - in the 70s this weekend! Xoxo!

I think it's clear the Republicans (not Trump's base) will turn on him, and yes, impeach him if it comes to that. They may be able to remove him from office by declaring him unfit, but I suspect they will give him a way out. He'll resign for some made-up medical reason and call it a victory, etc. etc. If they make up some huuuuuuuuge story about how he's the greatest president in history and he's done everything he said he would do, yada yada yada, he'll probably believe it all and "retire" to his Mar A Lago estate and continue tweeting until he drops dead. Of course if he refuses to resign, he'll either be removed as unfit or impeached. I did not expect Trump to melt down so quickly. Watching him on TV this week has been an astonishing sight. All the outrageous lies, the ranting, the ignorance and stupidity coming out of the mouth of the most powerful man in the world makes me feel like I'm living in an alternate reality. Never in my life did I imagine I'd see anything approaching this. It's surreal. |
Let me guess... Daily Kos is the gospel in your world?!
