A Dog's Purpose animal abuse on set

The producers and everyone even said the dog was in distress. That's not ok.

I wonder if the trainer and/or the whole movie crew were in a hurry, so they didn't properly acclimate the dog to the water before shoving him in. I hope that trainer feels ashamed.

My German Shepherd fusses that much about getting in the bathtub, sometimes. I wasn't disturbed by the reluctance to go in the water.

The last bit of video where it looks like the dog is really struggling in the water and maybe drowning is DEEPLY disturbing to me, though. Nobody should force their dog to do something like that. Especially for something as trivial as a movie shot.

My pitbull is terrified of baths as well. I can't keep him in but my boyfriend manages to get him in the shower and he sits obediently. I fully understand the reluctance to water, but I think this was on a whole different level/scale of reluctance and fear. Bathing your dog is for their own good/health/etc. This was so the handler gets paid and the profit of the movie/entertainment purposes. Completely different.

So someday when your "baby" attacks someone bc it only obeys your boyfriend, think back to what you posted here

Taking your kids to see this movie after seeing the video is irresponsible and selfish. Guess you don't care about animals.

Guess I abuse my dog every other Saturday.

Wow. Way to completely miss the point. Congratulations, that is probably the dumbest response I have ever read on here and the Internet. Not even going to dignify your ignorance with clarification of what I said.

It wouldn't surprise me.
