PP, you sound so much like a charter school booster who wants Wison in boundary students to remain at the HRCS for high school instead of attending Wilson. |
| At a EOTP elementary and not stressed at all. |
| I'm a DCPS graduate and a former DCPS teacher. I already knew the game, so it doesn't stress me out. I also have my kid in a WOTP school, and a HRC prior to that. |
What's "the game"? |
not pp, but probably the tracking system. Last year, my kid could not get into certain classes because they were "full" according to the 11th grade counselor. Turns out that it was not the case and other students were able to get in later than us. |

I am a private school graduate and our kids are at a WOTP DCPS after several years at an EOTP DCPS. I stress about my younger kid's reading and math growth, making sure they are prepared for their afterschool sports and extras, and whether they are getting enough science, language and music (new basketball shoes anyone? They have the pink Adidas at Shoe Train...we should start them on music lessons...) Maybe I should stress more, but since we are working middle class parents we have a lot of other stuff to stress about like health and fixing up the house and our aging parents and how to pay for stuff.
I've heard two good sayings about stress. One is "Worrying is like making a down payment on a bill you might never have to pay," but a friend of mine also says, "Stress is your body's way of saying you probably ought to DO something about this." |
