How tough is it to transfer to UVA from an LAC?

You will need to go to Liberty or Patrick Henry if you want a super conservative dry campus. Or, you could learn to live your life in the real world or real colleges.

Well what are some 2nd tier LACs with strong Classics departments?

Why aren't you doing this research yourself?

It's a rare major even at the most liberal arts college. Try literature for your associates and then transfer into a program once you get to a good 4 year college with a program. Also, look into Cape Town University in South Africa.

Classics, done well, are largely in the top liberal arts universities - and not really in very conservative school.

I'd frankly recommend a gap year for you
[u] - go out and travel, see the world, and get a better understanding of your self and ability to grow as a person. There are some interesting programs where you can volunteer/work to boost your CV if you do not like any of the school that are viable options given your current scores and interests. It's been a thing for a while in other countries, and more so in the US. After Obama's kid does her this year, I imagine that the concept will become a lot more main stream.
