Movies you mostly hate

Me too! Perhaps "loathe" is a strong word -- it's a cute movie to watch when you're 6, but the way some people talk about/love it, you'd think it was some masterpiece. It's over-rated, but not terrible for what it is, a forgettable kids film.

I watch You've Got Mail even though it's terrible because Tom Hanks is good in it.

What I love about Helen Hunt's performance is that in a few scenes she shows you how the character goes from suppressing all her feelings to being on the verge of leaving with Hanks to realizing that she can't do that. It sounds melodramatic, but she makes it very real. She's a great actress and a perfect match for Hanks's "everyman" style.

I haven't seen Gone With the Wind in fifteen years because I just find all the talk about "darkies" so unbearable, but I'd love to watch a collection of all of Olivia de Haviland's scenes.

Anne Hathaway is painful to watch chew the scenery, but I'd love a version of The Devil Wears Prada with her and her stupid boyfriend and friends edited out. Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci - they're glorious.

Good call, OP! I agree with both of these, now that you've pointed it out. Never gave it much thought before.

I'm having difficulty coming up with my own. The only one I can think of is Casino -- love the portrayal of Ginger by Sharon Stone. DeNiro and Pesci are just doing the same stuff they did in Goodfellas.

I also watch Drive Me Crazy. It is sooo 90s. The theme song is Britney Spears, ffs. Yeah, bad movie, but I watch anyway.

I also feel that way about Save the Last Dance. Not really a fan of the movie as a whole, but will watch it anyway. Oh, and Center Stage - for the "dance the shit out of it!" Line.

I love Keeping the Faith, whoever brought it up.

I love a cheesy movie called Overnight Delivery with Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon. I just saw an interview where she calls it a bad movie, probably her worst.

I watch pretty much all her movies though. I like the second legally blonde. I ever like the this is war movie - but that also has Chris pine. Damn, I love Chris pine.

There is a late 90s movie called Drive Me Crazy with Melissa Joan hart and the lead from entourage (who was also the BF from devil wears prada) that I can't not watch if I come upon it.

Also feel the same way about A Perfect Murder with gwyneth and Michael Douglas playing a rich married couple who loathe each other. Just awful but a must watch.

i love this one just for the views of that dream penthouse they lived in. and all of her fabulous clothes. but ur right. awful!

Thank you to you and the one other pp who got it.

Ooh - the Help. I like watching Jessica Chastain, Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis. It would be a short movie.
