You're funny! But seriously, how is the "Stop asking me for facts or specifics, it's mean! You wanting me to explain my point makes me feel bad. You're a bully!" working for you in real life? Yeah, that's what I thought... |
That sucks! What school since you're not there anymore? I definitely believe that happened though. |
Boo hisss...Just check out the teacher turnover. That'll give you your answer. |
Are you this petty & obtuse in real life? Asking for details is fine. It's trying to manipulate and belittle them out of ppl that makes you an ass. Like grow up already! |
Copy and paste anywhere in any of my posts in this convo where I "belittle" or "manipulate" anyone by saying that without facts it's hot air. That is a statement of fact: if you don't give details, you are not making a credible case (or any case!) that your statement is true. You equating asking for details and facts with being a bully is absurd. But since you did say it, where am I belittling or manipulating anyone? Or, once again, do you get through discussions about important issues by making unsupportable statements and then crying "Owww! You're a meanie and manipulating me!" when you can't even begin to prove your point? Does no one in your real life ever actually ask you to support your statements with facts? If so, why are you so sensitive or victimized by it? Using your words, I've been belittling and manipulative. Please paste the quotes here that you see as doing that since you're accusing me of it. |
I actually totally agree with this, high teacher turnover and where it occurs most is a key indicator that there are serious problems in a school. So fine, go ahead and name the schools with the highest teacher turnover since you seem to have info on that? You make a really good point! But again the conversation is pointless if there's no info about which schools have the highest turnover and what is so bad about the principal there. And high rates of teacher turnover is not at all a personal thing, so no risk of identifying yourself by talking about it. |

Please quit wasting our attention with this "name names" stuff.
This is not a court of law. It's just a forum discussion. I'd love to learn why the Leckie principal was placed on leave. If it's not related to that, can you rant elsewhere? |
Sadly this is true. Not at every school. But some admin will throw teachers under the bus when it comes to standing up to atrocious parents. Others are weak leaders who do the bare minimum but can coast on the efforts of strong PTAs. Whenever something important comes up it's not their department and they (that is, the kids) lose the fight. |
Atasha James. (I know that she's not the person you were talking about. But I bet you anything this is what the suspension is about. Lots of shady stuff going on under her watch.) |
I don't doubt that one bit. Just wondering what would make them finally put her in check? Was she a favorite being protected by Henderson who is now leaving and unable to protect her? Or were her actions just oh so bad this time around? Is she still on leave? |
+1 |
Yes, she was a fav of Henderson. I think slowly but surely Henderson's favorites are going to drop off. Problem is that they have bred a new generation of admins. who have been trained in the DCPS way.

I consider my point proven that there's no "there" there. But welcome to DCUM if you are new enough to think that "just a forum discussion" means everyone doesn't have equal rights to question the assertions of someone they think is being unfair. I didn't start the discussion thread I was responding to, and I have every right to ask the questions I did, exactly because "it's just a forum discussion". But I'm also interested still in why this principal was placed on leave, since it's unusual for the rumor mill to be SO quiet on this. Not that people haven't voiced their theories - many have. But usually by now someone has leaked a scenario that sounds more plausible than most. That hasn't happened yet, at least not here. It's a major step to take during a school year though, so someone with power felt it was that urgent... |
Please go away! I know a teacher at this school but it is none of my business to pry into why her principal was placed on leave. It is the beginning of the school year and people "in the know" are concerned with other matters like educating children.
