Your post misstating facts is still here, as is my reply correcting the facts and your reply criticizing me for stating facts. Can you please explain your very hostile reaction to a simple correction of facts? Is there a reason that you prefer information that is factually incorrect and insult those who correct it? |
When I say "Trump is a magnanimous leader dedicated to the well-being of our country", I am being sarcastic.
So, when Trump says "Obama is the founder of ISIS" one day and claims that he was being sarcastic the next day, does he actually mean "Obama/Clinton are the biggest enemy of ISIS" and will actually "destroy them"? |
Wait a second. Some people seriously thought Obama found IS? You people need more help than I thought. And I am very pessimistic about Americans' intellectual prowess in general ![]() |
lol.. yea, right. You probably were right there with him. You and he are just backtracking because now you sound like fools after he's been dinged for it, yet again. |
Yeah, this reminds me so much of the jerks in high school who said mean, wrong things about other people, to turn the rest of the class against them, and then when caught blamed it on the bullied person for not having a sense of humor. "I was just making a joke, sheesh!"
I don't really even care if he was joking or not. I don't want our national conversation to sink to this level for the next four years. Why would anyone want that? The shitshow wouldn't stop magically once he got elected! It would just be the beginning! |
Some people = Trump and his poorly-educated followers and apologists. Oh, and Russian disinformation operants. |
Intelligent adults evolve in their thinking and beliefs. I was once against gay marriage but now, 10 years later, I believe thats have just as much a right to be married as straights. We want our elected officials to be able to evolve in their beliefs. |
Joke, Lie and Sarcasm are very different concepts. Joking is actually like lying, just to pull someone's leg. Sarcasm is "mocking a concept". Webseter defines sarcasm as "the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say especially in order to insult someone, to show irritation, or to be funny". So, if Trump claims to be sarcastic, someone should ask what is the "opposite" that he was trying to convey or whose statement he was mocking. Why is the media not asking this question. |
The best thing about how Trump keeps doing this is that he'll say something idiotic and/or demonstrably false, then his supporters unquestioningly repeat and vigorously defend his statements as fact, and then Trump just totally throws them under the bus by saying "I was being sarcastic! I was joking! Of course what I said isn't true!" and they look like fools. |
Obviously, it produced quite a storm in the general population, so you thought it conceivable ![]() I've heard of verbal and other operants, but never Russian. Did you mean operatives? Sigh... Effing native speakers. |
Direct quote from this article: The group that would become ISIS was founded in Jordan in 1999, and became devoted to holding territory in Iraq after the US invasion in 2003. You can debate which of these constitutes ISIS’s "founding" in some metaphysical sense. But by any definition, the group was founded well before President Obama came into office. Trump is just flatly wrong on this Link to article. Great reading: http://www.vox.com/2016/8/11/12438744/obama-founded-isis-trump |
Anything I post you will lie about or delete. A mentally disabled woman was sexually assaulted in Idaho by not just any refugee, but by a refugee the media held up as a model refugee. He is in police custody. I posted about it and you deleted it. If you were interested in the truth, you would not have done that. Therefore, anything you say is spin. |
From Vox. No bias there |
. I used to believe abortion was fine. Now, after seeing my own ultrasounds, as well as 3D and 4D ultrasounds, I see it as killing a life and feel it's wrong. But liberals don't feel that is evolving. See the double-standard? |
Facts don't have a bias. But as it seems you're willing to dismiss the cited piece out of hand, could you point to the purported errors with which you take issue and provide evidence that refutes them? |
