I think so too. Why do they have so much time to spend on DCUM in the middle of the day and make the money they say the do? I'd fire their asses if they worked for me.

+1. I have no idea why people would lie about something like this, but over the years I have realized that they probably are.

Why? Because I am trapped between my high income and the mind-numbing boredom of my job as an equity partner at BigLaw.

Sorry, this may sound dumb, but what do you mean by metro operators? You drive the metro train? Please excuse my ignorance.

Yes, we've both been metro operators for years. DH moved into the ROCC (control center) and is a controller now so that was a nice bump.

If this is true, we now know why Metro has fallen to pieces over the past 20 years!

Metro PP here. Say what you want, but I made over 100k in overtime alone last year. Not including my base salary. We work very long hours.

I would guess that's like everyone.

We are both over 50 AND a two lawyer household. I've been practicing for 26 years, and my husband has been practicing for 28.

Because I work early mornings, nights and weekends, usually 80 hours a week, so I often have downtime in the middle of the U.S. workday. I support Europe and the Middle East, which even has a different weekend.

The postal service went through this phase, where it paid out tons and tons of money for overtime. It just about bankrupted them. Metro will have to change this practice eventually. Paying so much overtime to someone working so much long hours is inefficient. It may be necessary to handle peak demands, but not suitable for long term strategy.

I am a small business owner. I'm on here to take breaks from the day to day grind. It's like a cigarette break - 5-10 minutes of quick browsing in the forums I frequent, then back to work.

I do believe the Metro operators on here, but not quite that high of an amount. Think about this, Metro is open late on weekends, that helps. The bus system is close to 24/7. There is probably a shortage of workers. There is plenty of passengers for Metro.

What type of dentist?

I think that I'll encourage my children to be dentists, instead of physicians. Who knew?!?
