Flying without ID. Has anyone done it?

I just did this tonight--flew yesterday and managed to drop my license in the airport after I went through security and it wasn't found before I departed. (It was a small airport and I put a few thousand steps on my Fitbit going back and forth looking and asking before my flight). The TSA agents at that airport took my name and phone number and told me I would be ok for my return flight as long as I had credit cards, etc. to show. And I did remember his thread from a few weeks ago and pulled it up when I realized I'd lost it.

I got to the airport 2.5 hours early tonight for my return flight and had to wait a while for a female agent to come and put me through the extra search and pat down. Considering its thanksgiving weekend it wasn't bad at all.

But I must say that all of the TSA agents at both airports were very polite and helpful. I did get a call that they found my license and can pick it up when I get back to the first airport tonight.
