OK, down county AND east of Connecticut Avenue

... because no one east of Connecticut Ave uses the Internet...??

No, because down county usually refers to the DCC on DCUM, so not the BCC/Whitman/WJ middle schools.

The class was told that the surgery was on the foot/leg. Might just be story, not clear?

Classes should not be told that or anything related to her health. Major invasion of privacy there. (My DS is not at that school). Hope she is alright.

+1. I agree. But maybe this was the cover story she and admin agreed upon so that she could save face.

I'm the OP of the other thread. I haven't heard anything about surgery, but obviously I need to ask my kid ...

Can anyone who knows more about this please elaborate?

Geez OP!! Ask people in person! Would you like your health discussed "anonymously" on a community board?

How did things pan out, OP?

It's very good overall, but this year she has a social studies teacher who either seems drunk all the time or as if she has had a traumatic brain injury. This is not an exaggeration. The school is aware of the situation and seems to be taking whatever steps it can to hopefully remove the teacher, but the kids are suffering the consequences because my DD has no idea what this woman is trying to convey.

For those who know - what is the likelihood that this woman will be removed this year? What is the process for teacher removal in MCPS?

TIA
Sounds like she should go on disability. Maybe that could be offered as a suggestion?
