I think Hilaria Baldwin is the author

I think what is good about these books is that the mom clearly loves Skippy John Jones and calls him silly, endearing names. Something about the mom dialogue seems authentic and loving, but I hear you on the possibly stereotypical stuff. My youngest loved these books, but I would have been happy to not read them more than once.

These books are hate-speech and should be burned.

As a former teacher, a non-Mexican cat wanting to be a Mexican dog seems a bit less than hate. It's silly but I don't see racism.

I HATE these damn books and can't even read them. They are horribly written and hard to comprehend.

Not even one bit. El Chapulín Colorado /El Chavo del 8 is a classic beloved show. Skippy Jon Jones is awful writing and while I wouldn’t say it’s racist it’s stupid and not even a good series.

WEll to those who do not think it is a racist...you are basically completely wrong. They call Mexicans monkeys.............and there is something horribly wrong with teaching that an English word with an o after it is Spanish in a school setting........mock Spanish is a thing and mocking languages in school is racist. What is really sad is that many kids will not eat beans after reading Skippy John JOnes because they make fun of beans.....Beans are super healthy and cure cancer....so horrible book designed to appeal to racist people who hate healthy food and love to massacre the Spanish language because they do not think that the Spanish matter obviously.....
