We have reached that point though where everyone participating is starting to sound a bit high strung and assy. I suggest that we try to return to the earlier Kumbaya vibe before we scare the poor OP out of NOVA altogether and over to Chevy Chase or Bethesda -- the horror!

Well, that would help with overcrowding.

Let's talk about the enormous snakes that travel though northern Virginia sewers, emerging from the toilets to half-swallow you while you sleep!

OP has a right to know.

My kids are scared to use the potty at night because of it. There's a reason for all of the "late" potty training threads. It's the snakes. I can't blame the kids. I use a Princess Sophia potty at night. That smell that wafts through the air in Country Club Hills? It's not the smell of money. It's pee.

Goddamn snakes.

Someone simply posted recentl statistics about one metric where FCPS does better than APS. You are right that the reaction was high strung, as the graceful response would have been to acknowledge or ignore it, not claim it "means nothing."

Are we going to have to separate you guys? Put you in different rooms? Threaten to take away your TV time? Don't MAKE me come back there!

Is this supposed to be cute?

What % of FCPS is Asian? APS?

At the high school level, about 20% in Fairfax and 9% in Arlington.

Both Counties have excellent schools. There are a few duds in each County. You really have to look at the neighborhoods and schools much more closely without blatant categorization of A county is better than B County.

Fairfax, Arlington and Montgomery all have some of the best schools in the Nations.

Decide where you want to live first (taking into account commute times, amenities you find desirable (large, private lots or urban, etc)---then tweak your location list when you look at schools.
