What is the requirement to be classified as black or African-American in a college application?

I am sure I have some black blood in me. Can I get some kind of test to prove that? And will that make me eligible to apply as a black person.

How many generations back can I go?

I don't worry a bit about people opting in. Most who are have ulterior motives quickly learn that the benefits they perceive are far outweighed by the weight of the responsibilities of blackness.
