Return or sell the baby gift. The baby doesn't care if you get the gift and a niece is for a lifetime not just a baby shower or the first year. You will have a lifetime to get to know her and give her gifts. Sometimes even when you really, really want to be there in person for a family event, it doesn't work out.

With the money from the gift above, go to the dollar store by shampoo and soap, get cleaned up.

Get any job. Look on craigslists for pet sitting, errand running, weed pulling, cleaning. Do an easy online jobs - mturk, freelance easy writing gigs, anything at all.

Get any job part time or full time in a place - retail, fast food, reception - whatever. Earning a paycheck again will help with the depression.

This. It is my understanding that it is extremely hard to actually evict someone. Use this to your advantage. Let the management company know that you are going though hard times but give them something like $10 even. then get a job and keep giving them whatever payments you can. Make some kind of an effort and I don't think they can evict you. You can get a job. Clean up and spend a whole day going from retail to retail applying. restaurants, fast food, anything. Tell them you can work anytime, any hours and can start immediately.

TAKE A SHOWER, WASH YOUR HAIR, go to all churches near you and ASK for help. I had to do this after losing a job and UC had run out and no job. Several churches paid my rent 3 months, gave me METRO cards, gave me food from their community pantry. Stop wallowing because you don't have time to do so.

Make yourself presentable and go to every temp agency in the City and register with them. Take any job offered.

You cannot afford false pride. DO IT RIGHT NOW. God helps them what helps themselves.

STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF AS SELF PITY IS SELF DEFEATING.

I am really sorry op.

COSTCO pays very well and has great benefits.

If I can figure it out, I will buy you some soap and shampoo. And feminine products if you need them.

You might want to go to website feedback to first ask Jeff if this is a troll.

Not that poster, but I did ask Jeff if this is troll. This thread is slightly bizarre, but maybe that's function of mental health aspect.

So sorry, OP. I agree to go to churches. I got a lot of food and clothing from churches while I was divorcing and not working because of an infant.

You'll be pleased to know I got an interview with a temp agency for tomorrow morning, so I'll be showering before it.

OP, this is great. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you well on your interview.

Babysit.
Sell things on eBay.
Petsit
Dog walk
Yard work

You have to learn to hustle. i promise that getting out there and being around people and making our own money will help you get out of your funk. I do a lot of these things on the side and you would be absolutely amazed at the networking possibilities. I know people in so many different fields. Get out there OP. You can do this.

And volunteer with a food bank or some other organization that helps those in need. It gives you perspective.

Wtf!! This is terrible advice. Op has $180 to her name, she's badly off, not a princess who needs a dose of reality. Second of all, I do volunteer at a food pantry and some of the people who come aren't as bad off as op sounds so no, it wouldn't be a "dose of reality." It would be her literally helping people who are better off than she.

Shower first, OP. You will feel more focused. Then go to stores and ask for applications. EVERY store and restaurant I go to is hiring. You will get a job this way. It won't be admin but it will be a job.

When you do shower, be sure to scrub off like 12 layers of skin. PU!

And yet, despite this pit of despair you have fallen head first into, you manage to have an internet service, own a computer and can in fact, log-on to a discussion site where you talk at length about your dislocation from society.

Okay...

OP if you post where you live roughly, I have a feeling DCUM can get a list going of the retail/restaurants that are or may be hiring -- esp if you live locally, but frankly it wouldn't hurt even if you live in another state as there are readers from all over on here.

FWIW - even if you get a temp job tomorrow but still need more cash or quicker cash -- have you thought of applying to be a night stocker at Target? They seem to ALWAYS be hiring for that position so it may not be that hard to get -- probably bc people don't want to work those hours permanently -- and the hourly wage is higher than what it would be for the day time, as I think there's time and a half or a night differential.

Why be bitchy about it? How do you know that she doesn't have an ipad or laptop that she bought 3 yrs ago while employed and is hanging out at a McDonalds or something with free wifi.

OP is a troll. Other posts from OP don't match this one. Could be the whole mentally ill aspect. But Jeff verified it doesn't jive.
