All charters are not created equally

Nonsense! White IB residents have been sending their children (in sizable numbers) to WotP DCPS schools since they opened. Do all of them send their children to their IB school? Of course not. I know people (of every color) who live IB for JKLMMORS who will not send their children to public school--period. This is also true of some friends I have in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, MD. Not everyone will choose public school...even if it's considered a great school. That may be hard for you to grasp, but it's true.

Here is a photo of a 1948 classroom at Murch.

And here are some class reunion photos from the early 2000s:

We could dig up more, but why? The narrative you are trying to create about WOTP schools and families is not true and really odd.

I am a lifelong DC resident whose parents chose private from kindergarten through 12th...Try Deal class of 1986...I have way too many friends whose parents avoided it like the bubonic plague in the 80s. Post the yearbook pictures from the late 80s please.

This discussion has no relevance to people who just moved here and are now going to school here, either side of whatever park. Let it go people and stop insulting others to make yourself feel better.

In DC, charters are better than DCPS. That's a low bar to clear, but charters have proven they do better at educating the lower-income and minority students.

Really, the minority that you speak of is actually the majority in the both school systems...so I guess the divide and conquer rationale is winning. What does a white a family going to do??? Move
