With a 3 syllable first name and a 2 syllable last name, I'd personally go with a 1 syllable middle name like Jameson Cole Sheppard or Jameson Paul Sheppard.

Also Reed, York, Cole, Drew, Flynn, Lane.

Someone in either of your families has got to have a single syllable surname you could use as well.

I am personally digging: Jameson Quinn or Jameson Ford

Excellent choices here, OP. I love Jameson Page Sheppard or Jameson Ford Sheppard.

I love the name Jameson and wish we'd thought of it for our son. I'm regretting our name choice and this one is so great. Nice taste, OP!

I love the name Shepherd, and had to keep myself from using it for DS. I hate it typed out, but I love the way it sounds. It's an evocative name, like your Jameson. I also lovelovelove Cole. It's such a strong name, so grounded and firm.

Solid thread, OP.

OP here. My father's name is James and I (his daughter) have a feminized version of the name. I dont drink whiskey.

If anyone tries to shorten it to a nickname, I plan to correct them but people don't seem to do that much here. I have an acquaintance whose son is named "Alexander" and no one shortens it to "Alex" because we know she doesn't want that.

Our last name has two syllables.

Until he's older, then he'll decide what he wants to be called and you'll have no control over it. Not saying you shouldn't do it, but just that he may end up being Jim, James, Jamie in the end.

Jameson Roy Shepherd sounds great to me.

Jameson Daniel.

I love the way that flows.

You realize that he will have a flattened Jameson Whiskey label taped to his door in the frat house, right?

Seriously, please just go with James. Let him distinguish himself as "different" by being a hard worker, or a good student, or really nice person, not because of his whiskey-bottle name.

Roy?! He sounds like a red-neck or a serial killer.
