| Check out Blue Duck Tavern as well, OP. |
| Del Friscos Double Eagle in City Center is a good option! |
| Mastros. |
| Kincaids |
| 14:14 I doubt the OP has a time machine |

Rasika
Komi |

Komi
Or Roses luxury |
| People - quit recommending Komi or Little Serow. Great restaurants but clearly not OP's tastes ... nor is Rose's for that matter. Bourbon Steak seems to be the best 'fit' based on OP's hints. |
I agree on the above. I do think OP might also want to try Le Diplomate, which should have food that OP would enjoy. |
| OP, just go to Capital Grill, you are way too picky to even bother giving a recommendation to. |
OP back again to resolve this thread, which I thought I did! We are going to Bourbon Steak
Sorry to everyone who thinks our tastes aren't quite refined! We're not very trendy or foodies! |
| OP, you posted you wanted an "amazing expensive restaurant." That doesn't scream "chain steakhouse" to most posters here. Why do you care if it's amazing if you're not foodies (?) |
Maybe they just want a restaurant that has great service with nice ambiance and good steak to boot? I think Bourbon Steak is fine for OP--it's not a national chain like Ruth's Chris, and it's in a prime "DC" location, with just a hint of fancy that elevates it above (e.g., the fries fried in duck fat) many steak houses. I get it, though. I'm probably a "foodie," and I wish, wish, wish that OP for her last hurrah meal in DC would try something just a little bit more interesting. There are a lot of excellent steak houses in many cities, but not a lot of, say Ethiopian. Maybe, OP, you should try to branch out just a little. |

Fiola. Italian, meat and potatoes based but reaallllly good
Fiola Mare - not so good. same owner/chef |

Or maybe we, the foodie elite, should back off and let OP have her big fine steak dinner.
Different tastes are OK. There's nothing wrong with chocolate and vanilla. |
