| Barrie, Calleva and Valley Mill all have buses and multiple pick up locations in NW DC. I am sure others do as well. That makes them as convenient as Casa and Sidwell. |
| Are all the camps pretty similar in terms of what the day looks like? Is there a benefit of sending kids outside the city when CASA and Sodwell (and others) are right here? |
Not if you live in NE DC. |
If you're driving to Sidwell then you can drive to a NW bus stop for Valley Mill that's even closer than Sidwell is what PP is saying. |
You'd get better responses in the camp forums. |
I thought about Valley Mill, but then I thought about my kid spending 2 hours on a bus every day & decided that even if we had the money, it wouldn't be worth it. Maybe someday we'll do overnight camp. |
| We do a combo of DPR, mid-range camps, and one higher cost camp, plus a week of vacation and a week with grandma. We spend around $1,400. |
Not really - the commute would be too long (double commute for kid - car and bus). And think about those parking costs if you normally Metro or bike- to get back to the topic of this thread. I drove for 5 weeks last summer and hated it. |
