So while I regret blowing off academics completely, it never hurt me as I still got 95% centile on the LSATs and got into a first tier law school.

Dude, you're my hero.

Thanks. Although the best 4 years were really the early 30s when I discovered match.com.

Believe me, you didn't miss anything. I was incredibly shy and went to stupid parties because I thought I was supposed to since everyone else was. I didn't drink, saw how stupid drunk people act, had anxiety over being stuck at parties not being able to leave until the people I went with were done. One time I tried to escape to my sister's apartment and she made me go back to the party. Another time I actually watched TV in the basement at some party by myself to get away from all the drunk people. I really don't understand why people glamorize drinking. People often get alcohol poisoning, drive drunk, etc. I had roommates dry heaving in the top bunk and was afraid barf would land on me. I had other drunk roommates fornicating while I was still in the room, or would kick me out and I'd have to try to sleep in the lounge. From then on I decided it was fine to not like parties or drunks. People are immature in college. The friends I had were not real friends and often acted like jerks and bullies. You dodged a bullet if you ask me.

Oh man, that was awesome times...I could have my pick of women, and woo them with my words...also met my now wife through that...Only lasted 4 months on match, but had a good time, and a lot of sex.

Interesting. I went to a prominent, top public university and I was a friendly introvert who didn't drink. I didn't even consider joining a sorority. I had no interest in football.

But I had an AMAZING time. I had more friends than I knew what to do with, there was always something to do because I was involved in like 5 student clubs and loved attending interesting visiting speakers' lectures or concerts or private, alcohol-free parties that my friends hosted. As an introvert, I also loved being lost in my own thoughts. I adored going to a cozy corner of one of the libraries on campus and curling up with a book on a cold winter evening. I loved the freedom I had to learn, discover, and always find something interesting to do. And I had a thriving social life without any effort - in fact, because I'm an introvert I would find myself turning down invitations very often so that I could be alone with a book for the night (my favorite way to pass the evening, in fact).

College is what you make of it. There isn't only one way to have fun!

You are awesome.

+1

This was also the college experience I had. No alcohol, no sex, tons and tons of fun! I look back on 4 years at a top LAC filled with fun, laughter and amazing experiences.

This reminds me a lot of my college years. I didn't go Greek and had no desire to but that doesn't mean I didn't go out drinking and partying frequently. I was never promiscuous or into drugs. I had many wild days but I also spent hours in libraries reading books that had nothing to do with my major. For me it was all of the above.

Most of college is learning how to deal with other people , do your wash and feed yourself. It's a halfway house to independence.
