Vote out the FCPS school board

Many more people in Fairfax County, thus a greater economic impact.

I don't care either way, but I think Richmond is behaving badly if they are giving waivers to some counties over others. The fact that both Loudoun and Arlington have a waiver should mean that Fairfax gets one too if they want.

This is not the first I've heard about it, but I thought chances were unlikely given how many cancellations were required. The way they are going about forcing the issue is disgusting.

I'm far more perturbed that Richmond dismisses FCPS request out-of-hand. For sport, it seems, because they can. I'd like to see FCPS succeed for that reason alone. We can diss our own elected Board, but Richmond shouldn't be able to ignore us like they do.

Maybe Garza sends out the silly inclement weather emails (for rain/snow/potential cold temps) so she can beat that school board guy who thinks he is a student to the punch.

If there's a way to get rid of her, so much the better. It would generate more publicity as well, which might remind other alleged civil servants whom they are supposed to be serving.

Thank you OP! Well said!!! I'm so angry right now I feel sick. I HATE THIS SUPERINTENDANT!

I think she's great, so go jump off a cliff.

Because she's serving your needs? Well you can go jump off a cliff because I think the changes she made SUCK!!!

Take my tantrum elsewhere? No thanks. I'll stay right here. You can demand that I jump off cliffs all day long and demand that I leave all you want. I'm not going anywhere. I have just as much right to an opinion as you do. And I have just as much right to express my opinion as you do. If you don't like it, you can go somewhere else. You responded to me first my telling me to jump off a cliff. If you don't want to deal with me, that's your choice. You don't have to respond to my posts.

If you have ANY issue you are concerned about, would you like a say in it, or would you like the school board and superintendent to decide for you, with little to no input?

I strongly suspect that if this were put to a vote that you would lose. Most people in Fairfax would prefer to start school before Labor Day.

Nobody I know in real life does...

Agreed. I am totally done with this current school board not even making a pretense of listening. Ot is frustrating. Run on a platform of a fully listening to your constituents and I will vote for you even if I have to cross party lines to do so (and I never do that)

ok, have the actually asked the opinion of the community on this?

If so, and the answer is no, then complain.

But this should come as no surprise to anyone who pays ANY attention that it has been a top legislative priority of FCPS for YEARS to get that idiotic state law abolished.

Cool. I'll hold you to it

Clearly, it's not what everyone wants. Not that it matters....

I can give you proof of them not listening to community input they solicited on certain matters.

I would like to see a poll on this, and not a self-selecting online poll, but a true unbiased poll.
