Compacted math placement

Not in my experience. My sixth-grader is in IM, and several sixth-graders moved from Math 6 to her IM class this year after the end of the first marking period.

And again, since you don't seem to be able to read...if your kid is in 6th grade, this is pre Compacted Math. The first class of compacted Math is currently in 5th grade.

It is not pre-compacted math. There is compacted math right now. MCPS currently has compacted math.

Alternatively, by your standards, given that the first class of compacted math is currently in 5th grade, it is invalid to say that the system is "very rigid now", because the question of kids who were not in compacted math to above-grade-level math has not yet arisen.
