This is evident and has been posted on this forum before about classic beauties only being white or black. Anyone else was too "ethnic" to be considered classically beautiful.

Not all posters obviously, but there is an underlying sentiment from some that unless your white you really can't compete in the looks department.

It's a harsh post, yes. But sometimes the truth isn't easy to hear because we have to acknowledge parts of our thoughts that we don't want to believe exist.

If Clooney married someone that looked like Christie Brinkley, there wouldn't be so many negative sentiments. It would be accepted and applauded because she looks more "normal", more like someone a white person can relate to or try to look like. Not an 'other'. The 'others' we can find flaws with much more easily because there is not only a difference in looks and skin, but also a difference in hereditary culture.

It was not as if Clooney did not have access to women from all cultures before he was married. He did not have to marry a Stacy Kibler or any of the other hollywood bimbos he was with to get his quota of female company.

He obviously saw, recognized and pursued a woman who was far superior in looks, family background, education, brains, style and money - than any other female he was with or could hope to attract.

So, it does not matter what anyone thinks - her husband thinks that she is hot stuff and he was not offering marriage to any of his numerous bedmates before her.

No, I actually think the PP is correct in her assessment, especially when some DCUM thinks that the Keibler woman was beautiful and Amal not so. Amal is very attractive and does not fit the typical blond eyed-blue eyed definition of beauty. Stacy Keibler is just white with ordinary features, but because she has dyed her hair blonde, many of you think she is beautiful. Um, she's not. And FWIW, I do think Brinkley and Theron iare extremely beautiful. I just don't think blonde hair and blue eyes automatically equate to beauty.
