+1

The women at school who have that "I smell something"/constipated look on their face. They need sex!

I agree.

Take pride in knowing that you are accomplished, without having to prove anything to shallow people. It is pretty easy to tell who the trouble makers in life are - they are frustrated and act out every chance they get.

Yup. The hardest part is when certain people in the close family behaves like this. Got to stay strong and keep going.

Not OP- Then why do you waste your time reading them if thats what you think?

But in dc most are ugly and policy wonk type people, which means being disliked by them feels about as damning as being hated on by the class nerd in high school.

LOL!

Anyone else feel like the DCUM bitchiness is particularly bad when people are snowed in? I wonder if it is bored teenagers or maybe moms who can't stand being in such close proximity of their families for an entire day.

That might be part of it (snowed-in parents, I really don't think teenagers post on here though). I've noticed people have a short fuse in general when they can't get out of the house due to bad weather.

No, I think there are just very some very sad sick people who sit at their computers or I-phones and wait for the first new thread and then think they are clever (?) by making a hurtful remark. There are more of these type of posters all the time. And I don't think they are the older women. I think they are younger, sad, miserable women who get some glee or feeling of power off of making fun of other peoples' problems. You can see the pattern. Someone posts a "help" thread and the first and second posters say something hateful or put-down the OP. It's too bad because sometimes the thread then takes off in the wrong direction and the original OP doesn't get the info they need so they go somewhere else (which ultimately means less viewers, advertisers, success and income for Jeff)

However, I do notice an uptick in nastiness before Thanksgiving holidays running through the New Year. That i chuck up to all the stress women are under to make the holidays go smoothly, cook (I don't), deal with inlaws, gifts, class gifts, etc.

MIL is like this. It explains a lot of her antisocial tendencies.

ITA completely. Jeff should really be intercepting anyone who blatantly tries to derail any thread. I have seen the wrong threads deleted sometimes - for example, if someone tries to elaborate on the matter at hand. Which is completely different than blatantly trying to derail a thread with snarky no-at-all funny, smug comments.

Blatantly derailing discredits the entire site. Providing information pertinent to the matter at hand does not; instead it provides insight that others may not be aware of.

This would take forever! Too much to ask him to do. Can't blame him for the nastiness of others.

Just slow down and take a brake. I wish you a productive and positive 2015.

It makes me happy. I am so mean because it is fun. Thank you for your wishes for 2015. I hope you can improve your writing in the new year
Wow, you need a better hobby.

Oh, Happy New Year!!!

No, not lie but give helpful, honest advice in a kind and tactful way. That's what real friends do.
