Yes, the wave is coming next week, with Yale, Penn, UChicago, Stanford and a bunch of others expected after the 15th.

My DD has a few friends who were denied/deferred from Duke who, according to Naviance, had great chances for admission.

Denied, not deferred. Going somewhere else definitely.

Another one at our school. Parents were legacies but their DC definitely had the complete package on their own.

But not everyone lives on DCUM like they do on College Confidential which is probably more representative. Expect a CC deluge next week.

Legacy status or not?
I'd love if everyone posted with legacy or not.

If you want really detailed information, you should explore College Confidential admissions threads because the students provide every detail about their application.

Use caution when reviewing College Confidential...there's a lot of "puffing" that goes on that board...even when the kids are reporting "acceptances".....

WTH is your point?

My point is someone said, "congrats!" a response that could only be suitable for a student. the parent didn't get in anywhere.

Parents are to be congratulated too. You sure do sound bitter.

They really wanted my daughter. She didn't want to apply. I wish she had - congratulations. I hear it's a lovely school!

What are Tulane's particular strengths? Are there any unique programs?

No.

Harvard. Not completely unexpected (DH has degrees from undergraduate and the Harvard Law School), but still a relief. We're very proud of DS.

?"The thread doesn't belong to her/him and anyone can post here unless the moderator says otherwise." Remind me who the thread police is. I don't care either way, but it seems that PPs questioning of whether parents are to be congratulated is as valid a viewpoint as any other on this thread.

Ignorant. But that's no surprise here.
