My thoughts exactly. The only difference is that when kids are given fame, they are slow to the lesson that people really don't have time to care about your deep musings and that maybe you have a LOT more to learn than you already know as a teen. I think average people come to this quicker because they aren't always being told "yes" but famous people have that trap for sure.

I strongly disagree that most teens sounds this way. Having teens myself, I can say with confidence that my kids don't talk in a way that makes them sound like they are out of touch with reality. The article is sad in my opinion and says more about the parents than the kids. There are many celebrities that go to extreme lengths for their kids to grow up grounded and this is just ridiculous parenting and the Smiths should really be embarrassed.

Who cares? They will still get into harvard and our kids won't

I can't see either of these kids going to college. It would give them the sads.

They're impossibly rich kids raised in a bubble by very idealistic, successful parents. Don't you have anything better to do losers?

One of mine is a teen, the other survived to be a now 20-something.

These two sound insufferable.

Why would they go to Harvard? You don't learn anything in school, all it does is depress people.

I would love for someone to ask the daughter to talk about quantum physics. I bet she doesn't know jack shit about it.

Well do your kids read about quantum physics?

Willow and Jaden sound ridiculous, but most teens do. Of course what they sound even nuttier because what they're reading is "out there."

I like Willow's quote:

WILLOW: And the feeling of being like, this is a fragment of a holographic reality that a higher consciousness made.

Pretentious babble by insufferable kids who have been indulged by their parents and society at every stage of their lives. No burden. No responsibility. No guilt. Just me, me, me. Makes the average teen's Twitter posts sound like Henry James.

At least they have their good looks going for them.

It could be worse.

They could have been born to rich and famous parents, but born ugly as hell.

Look at Bruce and Demi's kids.

It must suck to have such great looking parents and then to be robbed at birth by the Gene Queen.

their nannies should be ashamed of what a lousy job they did.

Um no shit. Haha. that is a funny part although I don't love piling on children. DH does work sort of peripherally related to quantum mechanics (a side note, all of his colleagues use QM as opposed to the moniker quantum physics, but what do I know) and I think if they ran across a 12 year old, self-taught qm prodigy, it wouldn't be via twitter.
