"I'm bringing chicken and potatoes and cereal with me"
"Um, why?"
"You never have any food in the house"

REALLY?? Your first visit i went out of my way to make really nice meals that accommodated whatever fad diet you were on at the time. The second visit I had a 2 WEEK OLD - I told you there was pasta in the pantry and handed you a folder of take out menus. Don't judge my ability to keep a functional and fed household based on when I had a 2 week old and preschooler. I actually cook real meals far more often than most people I know.

She probably tells her friends and your extended family that you don't know how to feed your family. Ugh.

(I know I should through them away.. ) but to my defense I am a FTM and work full time. This year has just been a big learning curve...

You can put those in the crock pot and make some great bone broth.

Like the Costco sized package of napkins, her own bowls because I might not have enough, and "nutritional" easy ramen noodle soup. Last time it was a giant package of raisins because maybe I need something to snack on. (I hate raisins)

Awww, she sounds nice~

at least she is thinking of you and bringing something. i wish mil would do anything like this when she visits. she does the reverse--she sends a grocery list of what she wants and of the types of restaurants she wants to visit.

All my friends will know it's me posting this because this MIL story is legendary.

My MIL decided I was using crystal meth due to some postings I supposedly made on Facebook talking about how much I love meth. Said mysterious posts have never been located, but when DH said something to her along the lines of "WTF is wrong with you, why would you ever think that?" she responded "It's really a red flag that you should watch out for."

FWIW, I work FT, have three lovely children, volunteer, and have a very happy marriage. I also have all my teeth and don't resemble a meth head.

I got in a small argument with my mother while on the phone, nothing important, while my husband was in the room. Literally less than a 3 minute argument over I can't even remember what. I say something like, "well DH is right here and agrees with me" and she flips out that I would involve "someone outside the family" in the argument. Yes, she actually referred to my DH of several years and father to my kids as someone outside the family. Well... it was no longer a small argument after that one.

No ! A mysterious Facebook posting where you stated you loved meth? She made this all up and told your DH ? That is crazy
