Get a book on manners from the American Girl group - it's very good. Tell her why you are learning about manners -- it's important for people to feel appreciated, even for the little things. You can ask her if she does things like say thank you, etc. or maybe probe a bit about why she doesn't (e.g., she's shy, awkward, doesn't think adults even care about that silly stuff, etc.) and then help her work through it.

Tell her you'll remind her and prompt her gently in a way that doesn't embarrass her (ask her what she prefers).

Practice. Role play.

I wasn't explicitly taught manners, and I wish I had been.
