Got an offer to work in a daycare... WOW!

We paid our teenage babysitter $13 an hour to watch our kids over the summer, and both of them are school aged.

So what do the teachers or directors make at daycare or preschool? My daughter is thinking about a degree in early childhood education because she loves kids. She knew it would be low, but I hope it's more than $20,000!

Average at ours is 28k/ yr with benefits.

No you wouldn't, but you wouldn't consider your fair share to be $1 per hour either.

Because I don't want some holier than thou SAHM who thinks she's better than the teachers we have taking care of my kids? Then sure, I'm a bitch.

Wow. DH should just work sat morning then. I think it would add unneeded stress into your lives for you to take a full time job when he could work for 4 mor hours. Think about pick up and drop off for daycare, chores, etc. your husband is going to have to pick up a lot of your duties as a SAHM for no reason.

This is what we decided last night. DH would have to do A LOT (chores, driving kids, cooking)if I take this job, and for not much benefit. I will decline the offer, though I would take it if the hours were earlier and matched up with the rest of our schedule, because I am really eager to work and getting "no" from everywhere else it seems.

I don't get where this is coming from. I'm not asking to be paid more than them. I think they should make more, too.

What about a nanny-share position with your own child?
You're the nanny and your child is 'the 2nd'
