Summer re-cap: How did that beach vacation with the inlaws go?

Hmm, I wonder where your child would have gotten the idea that it's okay to treat her grandmother this way?

2-year-olds are blunt they also say 'i want daddy, not mommy' or whatever and a sick 2 yo is going to be that much more uncensored. Sounds like you haven't been around normal 2-year-olds. I seriously doubt the PP shouts in her MIL's face "I no like you!"

My MIL was annoyed that I didn't want to bring my 4 week old infant to stay in a gross rental condo in Ocean City. I am a FTM and said no while pregnant. She concluded I am way uptight and didn't realize I could bring the baby places outside the house. She continued to try to pressure us into coming even after the baby was born and I had 4th degree tearing. I could barely walk more than 10 feet at a time, much less sit in the car for three hours. I was still bleeding and the baby was being a baby and cried for about 90% of her awake time when she wasn't eating. I can think of nothing more miserable than being confined to a condo in OC while enduring all that. That didn't matter to her though! She just wanted us there so she could "have the family together" even though the three of us would have been miserable.

Agreed. About one day of ours was a vacation. The rest was a trip. FIL made MIL cry at one point. I spent a lot of time gritting my teeth against their politics and escaping to our bedroom with DD. FIL even bitched about my cooking one night. I told him I would be sure to pass his comments on to the chef.
