This: I would do it just to both the dictator next door. |
I'm doing the gal stuff too, and going in stages. I'm going to sling a pair of stockings over the lamp post, then add some heels, then stuff the stockings, then add a shirt and top, then stuff the top. Scarecrow. |
| I normally say not until the month of the holiday, but I love Halloween, so get to it OP! |
| Anything prior to October 1st is just tacky and overkill. |
| Whenever the spirit moves you is cool. Halloween year-round is way better than people who have Christmas shit up by November and don't take it down til March. |
| What is gal? |
Two wrongs do not make a right. (shudder) |
| Depends are your Christmas lights down yet? |
| Friday, October 24 |
Eh, hanging that stuff up way early or leaving it out well past the holiday turns it into an eyesore for the neighbors (and it winds up looking bedraggled and sad after one too many storms). Don't get me wrong - I think decorating for fall/Halloween is fun and Christmas decorations make the holiday even more magical. But seasonal items are,....well..., seasonal. |

Not till October.
No Christmas till after thanksgiving |
haha, nice. I'm the PP whose computer autocorrected some mangling of fall into gal. Didn't notice til just now. |
| October 1 |

Lost my post...trying again.
I put up a skeleton and a small witch hoping to scare away whatever beasts are digging up and/or eating my garden since fencing isn't allowed and I don't have a scarecrow. Will decorate more end of Sept/beginning of October and the big stuff comes out 2 weeks before. I don't have any inflatables (which my kids think are awesome by the way), but have a few big decorations that will make my persnickety neighbor throw some passive aggressive comments my way. I am really tempted to get a pink flamenco with a witches hat if I find one because she once described our new neighbors as the type to have pink flamencos on their lawn. |
PP in bold above -- I agree. When I wrote "This" I meant to explain why the poster sounded like a witch (because she wanted to hang decorations just to annoy her neighbors), not that I endorsed her post!! We wait until Oct. 1 at the earliest. |
