Am I the only one who thinks quinoa is vulgar?

It may be all of those things, but it isn't vulgar. "Vulgar" doesn't usually refer to food and if it did, it wouldn't refer to food as plain as quinoa.

"Vulgar" means tasteless, crass, tawdry, ostentatious, flamboyant, overdone, showy, gaudy, or garish.

OP is obviously just trying to gain some of the notoriety of the vulgar pasta salad bitch.

I tried it for the first time last night and thought it tasted gross. Almost so earthy it could pass for dirt.

Try the emily bites buffalo chicken quinoa casserole. It is amazing!

I think the word you're looking for is "vile." I don't mind quinoa though. It's like rice or pasta or barley--not much of a flavor, it's just what you serve with it.

I hear so many people talk about it and how good it is, and I just don't get it. Is there some way to prepare it that I am missing? This is an honest question. I would like to enjoy it. I know it is healthy to eat.

I am like you OP. I can't stand quinoa, rice and pasta. I don't know why but can't swallow any of these grains.

But I don't think any of these grains are vulgar.

You might not like quinoa, but it isn't trashy.
