| The only time I enjoyed eating quinoa, I made it with chicken broth and pine nuts and golden raisins. Otherwise, I think it's edible but I call it penance. |
| OP here. Sorry some of you don't like the use of the word vulgar. I mean it. It's the most nasty, disgusting, makes me want to vomit food I have ever in my life tasted. I have never said that about any food before. From the posts, it looks like I'm not missing anything. |
yes. But bulgar is vulgar.
I like quinoa when it's mixed with other stuff. there's a Kashi meal that contains quinoa that is quite tasty. But by itself, I don't see the purpose of it. I'd rather have buckwheat or bulgar or any sort of rice.

I am intrigued. What are you talking about? |
Maybe you mean vile? |
You know that couscous is just pasta, right? That it's not a grain, but just basically tiny pasta balls? |
| I had to be exposed to it repeatedly over several years before I finally tried it and it doesn't bother me but I don't frequently go out of my way to eat it either. Whole Foods has a delicious California Quinoa salad that I like. So far that's the only way I've had it. I've made peace with kale as well, though it didn't take nearly as long as quinoa. |
| I love quinoa. Red quinoa looks cool, as a bonus. I think it's hipster, not vulgar. Now bulgar... that's vulgar! |
| It looks like toenail clippings. Repulsive. |
|
Quinoa isnt a grain fyi
Also are you rinsing it first? |
|
Yes, are you rinsing it really well before you cook it? It has a bitter outer coating that you have to wash off.
This is one of my favorite ways to eat it: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Quinoa-with-Moroccan-Winter-Squash-and-Carrot-Stew-233714 |
+1 with toasted almonds and dried cranberries |
I love bulgar. |
| I don't even pretend to like quinoa. Nor do I pretend to like whole grain pasta. :/ |
| Everyone knows mussels are the only food worthy of "vulgar". |
