is grey paint going to stop being "in" in the next couple of years?

Agent chiming in.

BM Navajo White or Linen White with bright white glossy trim. Classic, timeless, never goes out of style. Grey is too cold IMHO although some greys are very tasteful they are not my personal choice.

Personally, I think walls should be neutral and colors should be used as accents in fabrics, curtains, maybe you could wall paper a powder room with a fun colorful paper.

Trust me. People that go wild with color always regret it when it comes time to sell. They do not like to hear this advice when given gently of course, but they almost always come around. Example: they'll ignore the color advice and list with every room a different bold color. Two weeks later, they will pull the house off the market, ask for my painter's number and paint the place a neutral color. Ta-da. 9 times out of 10 the place will be under contract within a week.

Of course you should enjoy your home as you are living there but as you said - if you are planning to sell in two years, neutral colors appeal to the masses and you want to appeal to as many people as possible to get top dollar for your home.

Just my 2 cents!

Actually, I really like grey. I think that it's a trend, not a fad. There are lots of good neutrals, so find one you like.

And you are a designer or a professional of some sort? Or you just like grey? or 50 shades?

Don't quite understand the snark. I am a person who responded to this with an opinion--like everyone else on this thread. Am I missing something?

I think grey is just starting to come in again after years of light beige/greige and will be in for the next 10 years or so. However, I think you're safe doing anything in the beige/grey/white families as long as the color is light and neutral. Even if you do go with grey, choose a very light shade and ask a decorator or someone at the paint store to help you find a warmer grey.

I disagree. I don't think bright will be in again any time in the near future. It's still neutral.

We have white now, and it's a little too boring and really shows toddler messes.

We have a color similar to this in our house and I really love it, and I didn't think I would. It's neutral but not cold, and it makes a nice contrast with white trim. If you had asked me a few years ago I would have worried about it being too "yellow" but we have these yellowy beiges throughout the house and I feel it's really bright and cheerful.

This is a popular color on the Washington Post home chat. I had BM shaker beige in my last house which is a lighter color but also very neutral. I think that you should go with something you like. Your buyers can always reliant and I can't imagine that they wouldn't buy your house bc you are using beige tones instead of grey tones. You are staying neutral.

Grey was cutting edge in 2007. It is too prevalent now. I also think white and light blue are coming in
