No Time for Lotion-How to Deal?

I moisturizer on weekends when DH is home.

New poster here. I can't put on lotion because it takes so long to dry & always ends up feeling sticky with clothes on top. Am I doing something wrong? Nobody in my family ever wears lotion & I never learned about it.

Maybe I use too much or PPs use some quick-dry lotion, but the whole process takes me 5 mins. I still do it, though.

I am genuinely curious as to how it takes you five minutes to apply lotion. I use Curel extra-strength or whatever, so it's not a quick-dry lotion, and it takes me max one minute after a shower. Pump 3-4 pumps into my hands, slap a few blobs on my elbows, butt, chest, stomach, and legs, and then rub all the blobs around so I get full coverage. It sinks in quickly enough for me to get dressed right away. Max one minute! Are you putting on a ton of lotion or something? You may be using too much if it's taking you five minutes to rub it in.

OK, I timed myself today. It took about 90 seconds to apply body butter generously right after shower. This 'no-time' excuse is silly.

Has anyone here considered that, yes, you geniuses can find the time to put on lotion, but OP must be just overwhelmed and wish to streamline her routine, which is TOTALLY FINE!!! No need to chime in, 'This is ridiculous! You must do things exactly the way I do or you are a hot mess or inefficient!" I mean, really now. . .

OP here. Never expected this to grow to such a huge thread. Obviously a topic that DCUM feels strongly about. Lotion application is one of those things that I always felt lasted a long time (maybe because it is tedious), so I assumed I didn't have time and cut it out of my routine.. But this thread is telling me it takes probably 3 minutes, tops. That I do have time for.

If I ever want to get a catfight started and have everything from my personal character, family relationships, parenting abilities, mental capacity, and likeability (or insufferability) called into question, I know to bring up the topic of having time for lotion. Thank you, DCUM for giving me a reality check on time and for showing how judgmental and emotional strangers can be on such a seemingly bland topic.

Now you have to be a genius to put on lotion? What does finding the two minutes it takes to brush my teeth make me?

Yeah, but eliminating something that takes two minutes is hardly going to streamline your routine, and the OP is complaining that her skin is dry and itchy. People are pointing out that there is nothing that will take less time than putting on lotion that will replicate the benefits of putting on lotion.

I put lotion on my legs and arms morning and night, even with a toddler. It really doesn't take that long, and if I don't do it, my skin is itchy and dry. I simplify my beauty routine in other ways--using tinted moisturizer, getting a really low-maintenance haircut, streamlining my makeup application--but not something that's necessary for my daily comfort. And it take two minutes.

I put lotion on my body right out of the shower before toweling off, then dry myself. I do not have time to air dry my lotion.
