That trip takes me 35 minutes. In an old-fashioned automobile. ![]() |
We live in North Kensington.
If you leave around 7am, Bethesda will probably take you about 20-30min. People are family friendly. I like greenery more than walkability to steel and concrete, but YMMV. Not quite walkable to stores unless you're ok with 15-20min walks (sometimes more depending on how far you're from Conn. Ave. or Univ. Blvd.). I like the fact that on weekends, I can be driving to Wheaton in 5min, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville, and Silver Spring in 10-15mins, and downtown DC in 30min. Most of the homes are 1500-2000sqft, so few mega mansions (except for that new development of 6-7 houses on Connecticut right after the Univ.Blvd. fork). CVS, Epic Pharmacy, Safeway, Mont. Co. Liquor store, dry cleaners and hair shops, couple of diners, 7-11s, and way too many gas stations. It's not urban by any means and it really needs a decent restaurant or two, but it's comfy location. Oh, and if you like Costco, it's 5min drive away (we just park far away and walk 15 sec more instead of waiting for that elusive parking spot). |
North Kensington? You mean Wheaton? |
Call it what you want as long as I don't have to live next door to you. |

ummm..these are actually different locations. There is a little bit of overlap if you are talking about the area between plyers mill and Wheaton Mall...but there is an entire area of North Kensington that no one would call Wheaton. |
Apparently, you can't afford to anyway so no worries sweetie. |
Thanks for further proving my point. |
