One thing I find fascinating is that most of the old school actors were very masculine, extremely handsome/striking. Today's actors are generally just yuck in comparison. Yes, that means George Clooney, Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt. No, I don't find Ryan Gosling even remotely attractive.

Agree completely. Clooney is a midget, affleck a dope, Pitt a poseur. Where are the men?

I think the thing about James Dean was that he was a grower, not a shower. There was always a lot going on down there. And maybe that seems surprisingly bug because he gives of an overall smaller due kind of vibe.
