I am still sitting here trying to figure out how it's hateful or angry to be offended when someone compares something to rape that is not rape. "Term of art" PP, do you think there's something wrong with the actual rape victim who said that she was offended at the comparison? |

Yep, I knew my taxes would be going up this year, but this one somehow flew under my radar.
Nice little $1500 surprise when I did my taxes yesterday. Ugh. |
If people on this site annoy YOU, go back to your rat hole. Problem solved. |
Congratulations on earning $300,000 a year. Some ugh. |

Well, this kind of makes up for the fact that you pay no social security taxes on income over $113,000 (in 2013).
Suck it up, OP. |
What? Of course not. Eligible people can ENROLL in Medicare. If you don't want it or need it, you don't have to enroll. No legal way to get out of the tax, though. |
Agree, social security in particular isn't going anywhere. Fixing the financing of it really isn't that difficult. Medicare is in a much dicier position. |
| Medicare is the worst in terms of cost. It covers the most expensive group...old people. Those old people vote anyone out who messes with it because they know they could not afford on their own. At the same time they scream about Obamacare. |
We have Medicare for precisely this reason. Incidentally, this is why the whole voucher proposal was as dumb as shit -- give an elderly person a voucher and tell them to buy insurance on the open market? What a fucking joke. Access to health care should be a fundamental human right, not treated a valuable commodity. It's a public good and should be controlled by government as all public goods are. |
