That's because we went into high paying fields. You could have done that too. People making more than the OASDI maximum make non financial sacrifices, you know. |
| I'm confused by your post, or perhaps I'm just dull. Could you please explain to me exactly how this is the same thing as rape? |
Maybe OP should experience being actually raped and then I am positive, her language will change. |
your reasoning skills are pretty poor. contrary to what you seem to believe, I am in a high paying field, and many people in low paying fields make sacrifices. |
| Guess I don't need to worry - I'm poor by your standards. |
| OP, your ignorance is showing. |
For #1, it started in tax year 2013 so some people won't notice it until when they do their taxes in the next few months. I agree on #2 -- the articles never make clear it's progressive. We make $450-500k, a lot in dividends (I own a business), but the bulk of it will not be subject to that tax because it phases in. |
| I look forward to having the income such that I would pay this tax. |
| I'm pissed off to be paying it. |
Do you plan to enroll in Medicare eventually? Do you have aging parents or in-laws or neighbors who depend on Medicare? Yeah, you do. So shaddup. |
+1 |
Offensive is a nice way to put it. You do not use the term rape for something like this! |
|
I've been raped. Paying taxes is nothing like it. You are beyond offensive, OP.
Yes, we'll be paying more. I've watched my parents and in-laws use Medicare and I hope it is still there when I get there. |
| Knowing that I will never see the social security nor the Medicare I have been paying into my entire life, I do not like the new additional tax. What offends me are my friends who either do not work or barely work, who will in face benefit from all my earnings over the years. Seriously, I can't even think about it because it angers me so much. (PS - read President Clinton's report on SS/Medicare --so scary.) |
| OP, you really need to apologize. |
