high number of Asians. The AAP center with the most Asians will get the most kids into TJ. Not rocket science.

This makes me laugh everytime I hear it (usually, only here on DCUM). Honors classes are indeed the same as AAP, or extremely close. The curriculum just is not that different, people. Though I know how special it makes you feel to believe it is.


This is true. There is not much difference between any classes (general ed, honors, AAP) as all must meet the standards for the Program of Studies.

However, the Program of Studies is a floor. Honors classes go beyond the Program of Studies. AAP classes also go beyond the Program of Studies. In some middle schools, there is a large difference between honors and AAP classes. But all of them cover the same requirements.
