Would you wear a bathing suit to an office pool party?

Hello! Boundaries, anyone?

Go vacation with friends or family!

Deep Creek with colleagues? uh, no thanks

Anonymous wrote:Do none of you all have any sort of annual "club trip"? Every year for a week I'm with my co workers in a bathing suit next to the ocean or pool for a solid week. Next February is Costa Rica. Anyone not wearing a bikini is the odd woman out. Each year 3 months out from the trip I get bikini ready.

Next week we have a team building at Deep Creek..not being in a bathing suit would be very strange.

This is extremely typical. Our club trip last year was an all expense paid trip to Monavo...a few years back ot was Croatia. It is not a vacation, but an all expense paid rewards trip for eveyone who hits goal.

I've never seen someone quit over it. Most all organizations have an achievers trip for BD/sales.

I'd wear shorts and a top and bring a suit. If I felt comfortable with the atmosphere and crowd, I'd consider changing into my swimsuit. If not, I'd relax in the shorts and top.

My previous company had our annual picnic at Splashdown water park. It was awesome. Now it might have been so awesome because the majority of us were 25 years old, but I'm 41 and I'd still be psyched to ride waterslides all day and get paid for it.

Now would I choose my bathing suit carefully? Of course. I'd wear the Nike activewear suit I bought for my daughter's swimming lessons. (when she blindly grabs at me, it stays in place.) Not a skimpy bikini.

uh, no. but it's nice to know that some workplaces continue to experience such wealth in this economy. man, you must be out of touch.

I would wear a bathing suit initially, but after an hour or two and a couple of drinks I would rip it off and scream:

HEY! LETS ALL GO SKINNY DIPPING!

Then I would leap into the pool naked.

I work for the Federal Reserve.

i would never wear a bathing suit to a work related event. i just think it would be so awkward and i feel like it doesn't maintain a level a professionalism that i am comfortable with.

Why the rudeness? I also have neve had these types of trips offered, but I'm not going to be bitter about other people that do.

the original post is really kind of amusing. i am not envious or bitter. i work for the gov't and i am very comfortablr with what i know i signed up for. but the manner in which the poster asks, " do none of you...etc" is just clueless.

I wouldn't, even in my slimmer days
I'm cursed with working in an office with an annual pool party, and even worse than seeing these people in their swimsuits is seeing them drunk as skunks in front of their kids

Are you in sales? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but that is a less typical job in DC, and particularly on DCUM which is overrum by lawyers, lobbyists, feds, doctors, IT types, etc., but not so many people that "hit goal" in their jobs.

This explains it.

Actually companies are experiencing all time highs in profits. All one has to do is marginally be slightly aware of the stock market to know that.Sorry yours does not share in the spoils.

So now I'm curious: would you wear a bathing suit to an office party? And, can you say what the demographics of your office are (mostly male, mostly female). And what's your reasoning?

Who has office pool parties? I can't imagine having my office all in one pool. All the people you work with naked. The company would have to pay for everyone's psychotherapy afterwards.

No, I would not be in a swimsuit around my coworkers.

well since i work for the gov't, i don't expect my "company" to
bankroll anything for me, but thanks for the condolences. and your post reads as naive too. sure, companies are profiting, but who is making off like bandits? certainly not the average american who is still trying to survive in this economy. certainly not that company's employees either. guess how many folks got raises in private industry last year?

again, clueless posts.
