Erg, OP here.

Believe it or not, I do know the difference between there, their, and they're but when I am typing to fast or angry I tend to make mistakes. Thanks for pointing them out I suppose. I don't want to start a race war, I live in East Texas and have to say that the majority of the people I find who are staunchly homophobic are white and very religious. In MY experience religion is what creates homophobia, it's the "love the sinner, hate the sin" mentality that bugs me. I am not broken, I am just gay. Yes, I prefer the term gay. I use lesbian, but I prefer gay. I am just tired of people who think they know everything about us "homosexuals" and think we are something to fear. I sometimes just feel as if I don't want to exist in a world like this, but the PP is right. I need to move to a more accepting progressive place.

A gay person has never forced an agenda down my throat, any more than a straight person has. Gay people simply want to live their lives.

Sure, some might be more involved with causes dear to them, but so are heteros.

If anything, gay people are being exploited by those who hide behind the the 'helper' shroud. And it pisses me off.

Another conservative here and I fully agree. I wish everyone would just shut up and it and let everyone live their lives. I have many gav friends and am happy for all of them. And I hate it when conservatives or republicans or certain religions are called "homophobic". I am not, never will be and have raised my children to honor and respect all people from all walks of life. Just because I believe in limited federal government, less taxation and more power in the states does not automatically make me a bigot.
