Mariska Hargitay - What Happened to her?

Listen, I don't think OP meant to be as evil as she's getting credit for. I am a loyal fan of the show ... as in I've seen every episode at least once, likely multiple times. If you are familiar with the show, then I think it is perfectly understandable to notice the change since last season. She's gorgeous, talented, looks great for her age, but she looks noticeably different this season as compared to last.

Douche Bag OP here. Yes PP, this is what I was trying to say from the very beginning. I was careful in how I worded my question as I kinda knew this would happen. I never once said that I thought she looked bad - I asked - WHAT HAPPENED TO HER....to me it looked/looks like there is a health issue.
As smart as the DCUMers are, I am shocked that my innocent and curious question turned into this. Being called all kinds of names because I was curious.

She might have thyroid issues. Who knows. I noticed she gained weight, but never thought it was my business to know why, and never ever considered starting a thread on DCUM about it. I think she looks terrific, and I also think she's got it under control.

Nice try OP. You said in another post you would trash your friends and gossip behind their back if they gained weight and that is exactly what you were trying to do here - trash her. So she gained a little weight. Why does it mean something had to happen to her? Why can't it just mean she gained weight. Why is a few pounds on a woman who still looks gorgeous and healthy so shocking? You were nasty and you got called out on it and now you are trying to backpeddle.

Did someone really say she looked like she's in her 30s? I just choked on the kool-aid you're drinking. Her body has gone downhill, which is to be expected. You can't blame it on illness. She isn't sick. Her little fangirls will say anything to avoid the truth. She's still a beautiful woman, but she isn't what she used to be. Her face is looking funky because of so many botox injections gone wrong.

10:28 Actually it's not to be expected, in that everyone ages differently, some better than ages, male or female, and not everyone gains weight. Some people have conditions or genetics that make it harder to control their weight.

My guess is that Mariska is menopausal! Weight gain can happen during that time of life...doesn't make her look any less beautiful!!

Yes, I said she looks like she's in her 30s and I meant it. I said it based on the photos I found from 2013-this year! I don't watch her show. She is within the NORMAL weight range too. I also said I think it's sad women are expected to have the bodies of pre-pubescent boys. Curves are beautiful. Having a weight in the normal range is probably healthier than being underweight.

It is very common for women to develop thyroid conditions after having kids. I did. Does her neck look a little thicker?

Wow - found this from another post. Hey first person, I am a huge Mariska-fan and I did NOT take offense to what you posted. I think it is the aging process, menopause, and being ridiculously happy in her life that she has put on some weight in the last few years. I don't think that it is anything medical. Yes, after she had her biological kid, she lost that weight quickly and looked HOT for several years. She still looks beautiful and I would not kick her out of my bed for eating crackers, but it is a different kind of beautiful. I have watched her age on SVU, but she does it like fine wine! I don't think you are a douche bag!
