Mandarin

I don't really see how the observation was a hijack. There was some back and forth on which schools offered Mandarin when, and then a few more posts on opportunities. I did not weigh in until someone posted about speaking Mandarin in Africa on behalf of Chinese companies - as opposed to speaking French, English, Portuguese, Arabic or Kiwsahili. Then I commented.
I think it is admirable that you encourage your kids to use their Chinese for the good humanity, and you have made it a poibt to let all know that is how you will proceed. But allow others to utilize languages the way they see fit without vilifying their choices whether or not those choices agree with your life choices.

Please help me come up with a list of which schools have Mandarin programs and what grade they begin

WIS starts at 6th.
Maret starts at 6th? Earlier?
GDS at 6th or 7th?
Sidwell at 4th?

Others?

What about the girls schools?

I realize I can research this but if you know and are willing to help, thank you.

Why would you want your kids to learn Mandarin? Everyone knows the future is in learning Cantonese.
