Gosh, I really hope you are right. |
As a Mormon, I am 100% committed to the mission of converting all non-believers. I feel that Romney's Mormonism makes him a more effect salesmen of the ideas that made him rich. Faith blocks out distractions. Rich people made this country rich--I'm not ashamed to sell that idea. I don't care if you would not want to drink with me. Drinkers are weak-minded. |
What is your perception of "a typical Black"? |
Oh stop pretending you know what you're talking about. You have no idea the tax issues related to active duty, and spare us the faux outrage, no one's buying it. It's so funny how everyone notes his leaving out Afghan., but how he most assuredly wants to lead us into a 3rd war. Could you make up your mind please and get back to us when you do? |
My trolling here has caused me to break out hives. I will need an IV bag of benadryl, stat. |
As a Mormon, I too am tired of the faux outrage from liberals who have no appreciation of the realities of an actual mission of helping foreign people. Romney has been on missions his whole life.He is uniquely qualified to lead the hearts and minds of people because he has had success making money. What is wrong with that? Why do liberals hate money and freedom? |
On the contrary I'm an expert in tax policy. But you keep on whiffing there. Combat pay is non-taxable. The end. As for your second point, it's completely consistent to connect the omission of Afghanistan from a major policy speech accepting the Republican nomination with an utter lack of competence in foreign/military affairs that might get us into another unnecessary conflict. As Grover Norquist says, he'll do what he is told. That's the scary thing. |
How exactly does success making money make you 'uniquely qualified to lead the hearts and minds of people'?? |
Oh, lord. Settle and read more carefully. The point is that Obama spends tons of time with fancy celebrities, laughing over cocktails etc while claiming that he only has the average person's interests at heart. The culture of political celebrity at its worst. Sure, Romney's not polished, but at least he's not spouting pop culture nonsense on "The View" while claiming to be fighting tirelessly for America's needy. |
Oh, please. You really think that Obama does nothing more than gad about with celebrities?? Give me a break. |
Not sure where I said that was all he did. Reading comprehension issues on this board today. |
What is it that we're debating? Has Romney ever said our armed forces are dependent? No, he hasn't, troll. Hell, he's never even knocked the actual dependents! Your expertise is letting you down. Describe to me how it's "completely consistant? |
As a Mormon I do believe that Obama is Jayz and Beyonce and whatever that is, it is a threat to America, particularly it puts white women in peril. |
I would be proud to be Anne's sister wife. |
I am not average. I came from average. I worked hard in school. I had supportive, albeit middle class, parents. I had a father who died when I was 10, and yes, I got some social security, but less than he paid in, that shut off when I was 18. I had a step-father whom I would not ask to pay for my education. I went into the military mainly to get money for education. I clawed and scraped and paid my own way to higher education with the help of my military time. I served in a time when I felt like I had to hide from my friends that I wanted to be in the military. I got out after the Gulf War. I have been paying student loans for my graduate degree for 19 years.
I now work 60-80/week for a decent salary, but a crappy hourly wage. I am proud to be an American. I believe that America should be about if you work hard, you can care for your family and have stability. You may not reach millionaire status, but you have the opportunity. You, as an American, have access to school that will teach you if you want to learn (yes, we need to work on this) and you have access to higher education if you want it. If you choose not to pursue your right to an education with all your power, then you can find whatever job is available to you. I believe the government should set up policies that allow businesses to create jobs that meet up with the education that people graduate with from high school. In my parents' time, that was manufacturing jobs. Now, we don't have that. Can we have that again? I leave that to the economists to figure out. Should we look to revamping our education to match the IT and service jobs out there, yes. I believe the key is education, but we have gone astray. I believe in the supremecy of the American spirit. I believe that as Americans, we should be proud of working hard and not taking a handout. I believe in helping people who need temporary assistance to get the training to be self sufficient. I do not believe in giving all sorts of people subsidies in the long term. I am not sure which candidate I should be voting for, but this screams Romney, but I hate the Republicans and their religious and gender oppression and obstructistism. |
