Do you wash all of your kids clothes before they wear them?

Yes, we wash everything for DS and our clothes, too (except dry clean only suits/jackets, etc.). I never did this growing up but my husband did and convinced me it was important. As a teenager I used to wear clothes from the thrift store immediately. Gross! Grunge was the style back then...

I can't believe there are actually so many people who DON'T wash their new clothes before wearing them.

I guess you are the same people who put your bread directly on the kitchen counters when making sandwiches.

Absolutely for DS. He gets a lot of stuff from consignment sales - even though it was probably washed before it went on sale, I feel a little grossed out putting someone else's clothes on him before washing them.

Not as often for myself but I can't remember when I last bought myself new clothes

I did when DS was really little, and usually still do for most clothes except for jackets. I've put unwashed new clothes when I've been totally out. I should get better about washing my own clothes first, but usually don't.

I remember reading some study a while back about the various viruses (including herpes) that had been found on clothing purchased from stores.

This is not that story, but it does discuss the length of time the herpes virus can live on clothes.

So yes, I wash everything we wear before we wear it.
